Pile up's

S comes home, naps on the couch. The laundry piles up, the dishes pile up. I come home and join him on the couch. The garden's a mess, the house is a mess. S goes to a meeting, I catch up on blogs. The laundry's still there. More dishes to deal with.
S comes home. He eats. We talk and watch some TV.
More dishes. Shoes all over the floor.
I fall asleep. S joins me.
We forget to put out the trash.
Repeat.

But, the house is warm and the couch is cozy. I love my man and he loves me. Thank you God for the people in my life. Watch over those in need. Help us as best you can. Help us to help ourselves and this too shall pass.

Amen.
Molls

To me it sounds like the priorities are straight. Being with the people we love, staying healthy trumps dishes, laundry, and gardens any day of the week.

All in good time, the laundry, dishes, and gardens will all get done.

Exactly! You are both in recovery...he from alcoholism and you from living with one...all that stuff will be there. Of course you're tired, its hard work..

This would be a great time for S to get a sponser. Men sponser men, women sponser women. I'd be happy to meet you guys before the meeting and make some suggestions if you like. I think you have my personal email...I think I lost yours (sorry:)

Wait. What? said...

Gosh Molls ya know whwat - sometimes its OK that things pile up around you - as long as things dont pile up in your head or your heart. I am glad you had some lounging time - its good for the soul!

Oh I adore this post, this is my life most days...dishes pile up, dogs pile on, laze on couch with husband and dogs, talk, watch tv, go to meetings, go to work, repeat!
Thank you for this precious reminder of what is truly important!

There's time to clean up anytime but love on the couch doesn't come that often.

I think we have a saying that goes:
First Things First!

Thanks for the reminder of what is really important in our lives.

NOW GO CLEAN UP THE HOUSE! -grin-

It must be Fall or something. The same thing is occurring at our house; and we are usually pretty good at keeping the piles low. I have been rebelling against cleaning them.

You are really getting this prayer thing down pat. Could you give me a few pointers?
