A practice run on this whole PRAYER business

Okay, so I'm not very good at this whole praying thing but with all the support and encouragement I've gotten from the blogosphere, I want to give it a try. Written prayer's count, don't they? My thoughts are so much clearer when I write.

Saturday morning prayer

Dear God, I don't know who or what or where you are, but I pray to find and take the leap of faith that will lead me to believe. I thank you for so many things in my life--a stunning fall day, a delicious bowl of oatmeal, my foray (or your guidance?) into the blogging world and the many many supportive people out there.
I pray for PG and the work she is doing, because I promised her she'd be my first prayer of the day. :-)
God, I pray that I will grow in my understanding and acceptance of myself, my situation, and the world around me. I pray very hard for S and the work he is doing. Please, please help him and support him. He is trying and we have both been hurt very much during this process. We could use a stretch of time full of successes, not failures.
I pray for all my family and friends, including, of course, my "digital" friends, for their safety, well-being and happiness.
I ask this without any knowledge or understanding of what I'm doing, but with fear and hope that you will.
Thanks God.
And thanks, bloggers, for giving me a space to try this out.

Have great weekends!

Beautiful, beautiful prayer. No question you know how to pray. Your prayer will be honored by God. He honors spoken prayer, written prayer, silent thought prayer, and any other kind of prayer - like just being silent in His presence.

And thank you for your prayer for me. What a wonderful thing. I smiled and smiled.

It's a better prayer than any you could have read from a book. With practice, one word will change, I betcha: about four lines up from bottom, you mention "fear". That word will change to either "Faith" or TRrust"...and maybe to both!

Now just wait for God to answer to your prayers!

I'll admit I have a very hard time praying as well. In fact, after trying it it doesn't really seem to help me grow. But that is just me. Different things work for different people and prayer can be very powerful for some. Meditation has been the key to my growth, but this doesn't work for everyone. The important thing is that you are open to trying new things that are out of your comfort zone. That is always a good thing.

Molly! What a beautiful heartfelt prayer. God loves when we communicate with Him whether it is verbal, written or thought. He wants to hear from us about every little thing, even though He already knows it. But He won't step in where we don't invite Him. He's so gentlemanly :)

Just excellent and keep it up. You will experience such peace in your heart.

A big hug!

Hey Molls, haven't heard from you for couple dayze. Hope everything's OK. Please, please, let us know.

Maybe you said you'd be "away" and I forgot--in which case, give me three lashes (from a hog's eyelid?).

Anyway, people out here miss you, and care for you.
